DESCRIPTION: ...The National Weather Service in Chicago IL has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Illinois... Du Page River at Shorewood affecting Will County. For the Du Page River...including Shorewood...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Du Page River from IL-59 in Plainfield downstream to confluence with Des Plaines River, including the Shorewood gauge. * WHEN...Until just after midnight tonight. * IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, trails are inundated at Hammel Woods in Shorewood. At 16.0 feet, Clark Drive threatened in Shorewood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:45 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 15.3 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this morning and crest just above flood stage this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage this evening. - Flood stage is 15.5 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
INSTRUCTION: A Flood Warning means water levels above flood stage are imminent or may already be occurring. Persons along rivers and streams in the warned area should take immediate precautions to protect life and property. These forecasts are based on observed precipitation as well as forecast precipitation 24 hours into the future. Changes to the rainfall forecast, or any additional rainfall after 24 hours, may cause changes to these river forecasts. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov. Similar to cirrocumulus clouds, altocumulus clouds are
characterized by cloud patches. They are distinguished by larger cloudlets
than cirrocumulus clouds but are still smaller than stratocumulus clouds.
Altocumulus clouds most commonly form in middle altitudes (between 2 and 5 km)
and may resemble, at times, the shape of a flying saucer.
These uncommon formations, called altocumulus lenticularis, are created by uplift
in the atmosphere and are most often seen in close proximity to mountains.

Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km)
and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of
small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as
"cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.
Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the
water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a
cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud
formations generally pass rapidly.
