DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Portions of South Central and Southeast Kansas, including the following counties, in South Central Kansas, Cowley. In Southeast Kansas, Chautauqua. * WHEN...Until 1215 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 703 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated slow moving thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall across the warned area. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Sedan, Cedar Vale, Peru, Chautauqua, Elgin and Niotaze.
INSTRUCTION: Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown.

Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km)
and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of
small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as
"cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.
Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the
water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a
cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud
formations generally pass rapidly.
