Northern Coconino County in north central Arizona... * Until midnight MST /100 AM MDT Wednesday/. * At 547 PM MST /647 PM MDT/, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life-threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Life-threatening flash flooding of low-water crossings, creeks, normally dry washes and roads. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Paria Canyon, Lee's Ferry CG, Paria Beach, Lee's Ferry, Lees Ferry, Paria River Slot Canyon, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Grand Canyon National Park and Navajo Reservation. This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Colorado River and Paria River.

INSTRUCTION: Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain. Normally dry washes, slot canyons and creeks can become raging killer currents in a matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.

Cirrocumulus Clouds Next Topic: Cirrostratus Clouds

Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km) and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as "cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.

Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud formations generally pass rapidly.
