Northern Shackelford County in west central Texas... Throckmorton County in west central Texas... * Until 1100 PM CDT. * At 1012 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 9 miles east of Big Country Baptist Assembly, or 10 miles east of Lueders, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. * This severe thunderstorm will be near... Fort Griffin around 1025 PM CDT. Other locations impacted by this severe thunderstorm include The Intersection Of Us-183 And Us-283, The Intersection Of Us- 283 And Ranch Road 209, Lusk, and The Intersection Of Us- 380 And Highway 222.

Graupel is a form of precipitation that is created by atmospheric conditions
which cause supercooled water droplets to contact snow crystals and freeze to
their surface.
Sometimes known as soft hail or snow pellets, graupel is delicate and easily
destroyed by touch. Whereas hail usually falls during severe weather, graupel
doesn't require such conditions to form, and can form in mild precipitation
similar to situations which produce snowfall.

A hole punch cloud is an unusual occurrence when a disk-shaped
hole appears in a cirrostratus, cirrocumulus, or altocumulus cloud.
When part of the cloud forms ice crystals, water droplets in the surrounding area
of the cloud evaporate. The effect of this process produces a large elliptical
gap in the cloud. The hole punch cloud formation is rare, but it is not specific
to any geographic area.
Other names which have been used to describe this phenomena include fallstreak hole,
skypunch, and cloud hole.
