Neuse River At Smithfield affecting Johnston County. ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in North Carolina... Neuse River Near Clayton affecting Johnston County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Neuse River at Smithfield. * WHEN...Until late Friday morning. * IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, Minor flooding begins. Flooding begins along the Neuse Riverwalk. Water nears the base of the holding tank at the water treatment plant. At 18.0 feet, Moderate flooding begins. The Smithfield town park and the Neuse Riverwalk at the US70 bridge are flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:15 PM EDT Tuesday the stage was 17.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 17.6 feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage late Thursday evening. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet. - water.noaa.gov/gauges/SMFN7

A contrail is an artificial cloud, created by the passing of an
aircraft.
Contrails form because water vapor in the exhaust of aircraft engines is suspended
in the air under certain temperatures and humidity conditions. These contrails
are called exhaust contrails.
Another type of contrail can form due to a temporary reduction in air pressure
moving over the plane's surface, causing condensation.
These are called aerodynamic contrails.
When you can see your breath on a cold day, it is also because of condensation.
The reason contrails last longer than the condensation from your breath is
because the water in contrails freezes into ice particles.
