DESCRIPTION: ...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Indiana... East Fork White River near Rivervale, and at Columbus. Flatrock River near Columbus. Driftwood River near Edinburgh. East Fork White River at Williams and near Bedford. ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Indiana... East Fork White River at Shoals and Seymour. .Total rainfall amounts of 3 to over 5 inches of rain across much of central and southern Indiana is bringing widespread flooding. Additional rainfall over the weekend and next week could lengthen the amount of time the river remains in flood. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Driftwood River near Edinburgh. * WHEN...Until late Monday morning. * IMPACTS...At 14.9 feet, Extensive flooding along Driftwood River in northern Bartholomew County on March 7, 2011. Double Y Saddle Club area extensively flooded. Water flowing over CR 950N to Club. CR 330W is flooded just south of its intersection with Ohio Ridge Rd. CR 500N west of CR 250W is flooded blocking vehicular access to residences near the river bank. Lowell Public Access site is completely flooded. Water very near several residences and seasonal homes along CR 330W and CR 325W. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:30 PM EST Thursday the stage was 15.1 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 10:30 PM EST Thursday was 15.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 15.3 feet tomorrow morning. INSTRUCTION: Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most flood related deaths occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges, dips, or low water crossings. Never try to cross a flowing stream, even a small one, on foot. A fractus cloud (scud) is a fragmented, tattered cloud which has
likely been sheared off of another cloud. They are accessory clouds, meaning they
develop from parent clouds, and are named in a way which describes the original
cloud which contained them.
Fractus clouds which have originated from cumulus clouds are referred to as
cumulus fractus, while fractus clouds which have originated from stratus clouds
are referred to as stratus fractus. Under certain conditions a fractus cloud might
merge with another cloud, or develop into a cumulus cloud, but usually a
fractus cloud seen by itself will dissipate rapidly.
They are often observed on the leading and trailing edges of storm clouds,
and are a display of wind activity.

Graupel is a form of precipitation that is created by atmospheric conditions
which cause supercooled water droplets to contact snow crystals and freeze to
their surface.
Sometimes known as soft hail or snow pellets, graupel is delicate and easily
destroyed by touch. Whereas hail usually falls during severe weather, graupel
doesn't require such conditions to form, and can form in mild precipitation
similar to situations which produce snowfall.
