DESCRIPTION: ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Minnesota... South Fork Crow River below Mayer affecting Carver County. Minnesota River at New Ulm affecting Blue Earth, Brown and Nicollet Counties. Minnesota River at Granite Falls HWY 212 affecting Renville, Yellow Medicine and Chippewa Counties. Minnesota River at Morton affecting Renville and Redwood Counties. Minnesota River at Montevideo affecting Yellow Medicine, Chippewa and Lac qui Parle Counties. Crow River at Rockford affecting Hennepin and Wright Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Crow River at Rockford. * WHEN...Until Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, Low lying areas and some roads along the river begin to experience flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 800 PM CDT Wednesday, the stage was 10.4 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 800 PM CDT Wednesday was 10.4 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 10.4 feet early Saturday morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Tuesday afternoon. - Flood stage is 10.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 10.4 feet on 03/25/1936.
INSTRUCTION: Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Altostratus clouds form at mid to high-level altitudes
(between 2 and 7 km) and are created by a warm, stable air mass which causes
water vapor
to condense as it rise through the atmosphere. Usually altostratus clouds are
featureless sheets characterized by a uniform color.
In some cases, wind punching through the cloud formation may give it a waved
appearance, called altostratus undulatus. Altostratus clouds
are commonly seen with other cloud formations accompanying them.

Cirrostratus clouds are high, thin clouds that form above
20,000 feet and are made mostly of ice crystals. They sometimes look like giant
feathers, horse tails, or curls of hair in the sky.
These clouds are pushed by the jet stream and can move at high speeds reaching
100 mph.
