DESCRIPTION: ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Texas... Llano River at Llano affecting Llano County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Llano River at Llano. * WHEN...Until tomorrow morning. * IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding can swamp boats in the lower Llano River in Kingsland. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 4:00 PM CDT Monday the stage was 10.3 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 4:00 PM CDT Monday was 14.8 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 10.6 feet late this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage this evening. - Flood stage is 10.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 11.2 feet on 07/06/2002. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
INSTRUCTION: Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim, or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters, stop, turn around and go another way. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. To escape rising water, take the shortest path to higher ground. A nimbostratus cloud is similar to a stratus cloud in its formless,
smooth appearance. However, a nimbostratus cloud is darker than a stratus cloud,
because it is thicker.
Unlike a stratus cloud, a nimbostratus cloud typically brings with it the threat
of moderate to heavy precipitation. In some cases, the precipitation may evaporate
before reaching the ground, a phenomenon known as virga.

Precipitation in the form of water droplets is called rain.

an observable effect on rainfall, due to an effect called the urban heat island.
Compared to upwind, monthly rainfall between twenty and forty miles downwind of
cities is 30% greater.
