Southeastern Nueces County in south central Texas... * Until 1100 PM CDT. * At 1010 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles south of Clarkwood, or 8 miles southwest of Corpus Christi International Airport, moving east at 30 mph. THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR EASTERN NUECES COUNTY, INCLUDING THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI. SEEK SHELTER NOW. HAZARD...90 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Emergency management. IMPACT...You are in a life-threatening situation. Flying debris may be deadly to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged or destroyed. Homes and businesses will have substantial roof and window damage. Expect extensive tree damage and power outages. * Locations impacted include... Altostratus clouds form at mid to high-level altitudes (between 2 and 7 km) and are created by a warm, stable air mass which causes water vapor to condense as it rise through the atmosphere. Usually altostratus clouds are featureless sheets characterized by a uniform color.

In some cases, wind punching through the cloud formation may give it a waved appearance, called altostratus undulatus. Altostratus clouds are commonly seen with other cloud formations accompanying them.
