Milwaukee River Near Cedarburg affecting Ozaukee County. Root River At Franklin affecting Milwaukee County. ...The Flood Warning is cancelled for the following rivers in Wisconsin... Menomonee River At Wauwatosa affecting Milwaukee County. Milwaukee River At Milwaukee affecting Milwaukee County. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. This is currently near record. * WHERE...Root River at Franklin. * WHEN...Until Tuesday morning. * IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, The Root River Parkway is flooded. 8 Mile Rd and 27th St Flooded. Nicholson Rd flooded. A portion of Oakwood Road is flooded. Yards along the river are flooded. There is widespread flooding of lowland and agricultural land near the river. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:00 PM CDT Sunday the stage was 11.4 feet. - Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:00 PM CDT Sunday was 11.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage tomorrow evening and continue falling to 2.5 feet Sunday, August 17. - Flood stage is 8.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 11.0 feet on 06/08/2008. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
INSTRUCTION: Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Hail is a form of precipitation which is recognized by large solid balls or
clumps of ice. Hail is created by thunderstorm clouds with strong updrafts of wind.
As the hailstones remain in the updraft, ice is deposited onto them until their
weight becomes heavy enough for them to fall to the earth's surface.
Hail storms can cause significant damage to crops, aircrafts, and man-made structures,

A mammatus cloud is a cloud with a unique feature which resembles
a web of pouches hanging along the base of the cloud.
In the United States, mammatus clouds tend to form in the warmer months, commonly
in the Midwest and eastern regions.
While they usually form at the bottom of a cumulonimbis cloud, they can also form
under altostratus, altocumulus, stratocumulus, and cirrus clouds. Mammatus clouds
warn that severe weather is close.
