DESCRIPTION: ...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Washington... Tolt River Above Carnation affecting King County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Tolt River above Carnation. * WHEN...Until early Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...At 5,000.0 cfs, the Tolt River will flood Tolt River Rd NE and many driveways. Some homes in the San Souci area could be inaccessible due to deep and quick flood waters. This river level on the Tolt corresponds to a phase 3 flood in the King County flood system. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 6:15 PM PDT Wednesday the flow was 4,230.0 cfs. - Flood flow is 5,000.0 cfs. - Forecast...The river will continue to fall, reaching its lowest flow at 3,343.7 cfs late tonight. It expected to begin rising again by early Thursday afternoon, achieving flood stage by late Friday morning and reaching a secondary crest at 5,447.4 cfs by late Friday afternoon. A mammatus cloud is a cloud with a unique feature which resembles
a web of pouches hanging along the base of the cloud.
In the United States, mammatus clouds tend to form in the warmer months, commonly
in the Midwest and eastern regions.
While they usually form at the bottom of a cumulonimbis cloud, they can also form
under altostratus, altocumulus, stratocumulus, and cirrus clouds. Mammatus clouds
warn that severe weather is close.

Precipitation can refer to many different forms of water that
may fall from clouds. Precipitation occurs after a cloud has become saturated to
the point where its water particles are more dense than the air below the cloud.
In most cases, precipitation will reach the ground, but it is not uncommon for
precipitation to evaporate before it reaches the earth's surface.
When precipitation evaporates before it contacts the ground it is called Virga.
Graupel, hail, sleet, rain, drizzle, and snow are forms of precipitation, but fog
and mist are not considered precipitation because the water vapor which
constitutes them isn't dense enough to fall to the ground.
